Why am I doing this?
My name is Tim Horrell, and I’m a follower of Jesus. I came to know God’s love later in life, and now I feel called to share that love through writing.
Why writing? Because, frankly, I’m terrible at public speaking—as my wife will gladly confirm! While I admire great orators who can captivate an audience with the gospel, that’s not the gift God gave me. So, I write.
My first book began as something personal for my family. It evolved into a small teaching, and I thought, “Why not publish it?” I chose a vanity press, not knowing much about the publishing world. They were helpful, especially with editing, though a typo in the introduction slipped through—something a friend caught right away. It happens. If I ever revise the book, I’ll fix it.
For my upcoming novel, I’ve decided to self-publish. The main reason? Speed. Traditional publishing can be slow and uncertain, especially for first-time authors. I did explore literary agents who specialize in Christian writing, but the process—query letters, synopses, and varying submission requirements—was overwhelming and often discouraging.
After researching self-publishing, I realized the eBook market is booming. With print-on-demand options from Amazon and others, it’s now easier and more affordable than ever to get your words out there. The challenge, of course, is getting people to read them. That’s where this website comes in.
I created this site to promote Christian self-published authors. My goal is to help spread the word and provide a platform for book promotion. In the future, I plan to offer editing services, as I’ve noticed many self-published books—including my own—could benefit from stronger editing.
I’ll also be launching a blog soon and hope to feature guest posts from other Christian writers. All submissions will be reviewed before posting. I also hope the site will help boost visibility for my own books—currently one non-fiction title, with my first novel on the way
